Blues activate G Jaroslav Halak from injured list to serve as backup to Elliott vs. Flames

ST. LOUIS - Blues goalie Jaroslav Halak has been activated from the injured list after missing 12 games because of a groin injury.

Halak was activated before Thursday night's game against the Calgary Flames, and he served as the backup to St. Louis starter Brian Elliott. Halak hasn't played since April 1.

Halak (6-5-1) entered the season as the Blues' No. 1 goalie, but because of groin problems has been limited to only 16 games.

Quote of the Day

He's a winner. We want winners here, and he's a proven winner. He's won two Stanley Cups. He's 22 years old and been a big part of it. He's got all the right tools. He's got size (6-foot-1, 204 pounds) and strength. He's exactly what we were looking for. He's going to be a big piece of our team for many, many years to come.
