David Leggio makes 29 saves for Rochester in 5-1 win over league-worst Hamilton

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - David Leggio made 29 saves as the Rochester Americans cruised past the Hamilton Bulldogs 5-1 in American Hockey League play Saturday.

Evan Rankin, Phil Varone, Maxime Legault, Dan Catenacci and Luke Adam each scored for Rochester (42-29-4), which holds the sixth place playoff berth in the Western Conference with one game remaining.

Olivier Archambault had the lone goal for lowly Hamilton, which will finish the season Sunday as the AHL's worst team at 29-40-6.

Archambault's goal cut Rochester's lead to 2-1 at 10:13 in the second, but a power-play goal by Varone two minutes later restored the Americans' insurance.

Dustin Tokarski finished with 22 saves on 27 shots in net for the Bulldogs.

Quote of the Day

I feel that responsibility, I've felt it for the last two years. We core guys get a lot of minutes, we get a lot of opportunity out there. Our teammates, the organization and fans look to us to be the guys to put the puck in the net and to create momentum out there.
