Ducks recall Vatanen, Hendry
The Anaheim Ducks have recalled defensemen Sami Vatanen and Jordan Hendry from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals.

The Anaheim Ducks have recalled defensemen Sami Vatanen and Jordan Hendry from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals.

Vatanen, 21, has appeared in three games for the Ducks this season, going scoreless with a plus-1 rating. He made his NHL debut on Feb. 1 against the Minnesota Wild and also appeared on Feb. 4 vs. the San Jose Sharks and Feb. 6 against the Colorado Avalanche. Vatanen has played 62 games with the Admirals this season, scoring nine goals and adding a team-high 36 assists for 45 points, along with 44 penalty minutes. The Ducks chose him in the fourth round (No. 106) of the 2009 NHL Draft.

Hendry, 29, has appeared in two games for Anaheim this season, going scoreless on Jan. 19 against the Vancouver Canucks and Feb. 6 at Colorado. He has two goals, 11 points and 61 penalty minutes in 59 games with Norfolk. Hendry was signed by the Ducks as a free agent last summer and has four goals and 13 points in 131 NHL games. He was a member of the Chicago Blackhawks' Stanley Cup-winning team in 2010.
