Columbus Blue Jackets add D David Savard on emergency recall from AHL Springfield, Mass.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets have added defenceman David Savard on emergency recall from their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass.

Veteran Adrian Aucoin left with an injury in the second period of Monday night's 4-3 overtime victory over Colorado that moved the Blue Jackets into a tie with Detroit for eighth place in the West.

The 22-year-old Savard played three games with Columbus earlier this season. He has five goals and 26 assists in 60 games with Springfield this season. Savard has two goals and eight assists in 34 career NHL games, all with the Blue Jackets, who picked him in the fourth round of the 2009 draft.

Quote of the Day

I first met him when I was 19 years old and he coached me for 13 consecutive years. I don't know how many athletes who have had that pleasure. Al Arbour was a man that left us not only feeling like champions, but left us with a lot of great memories that we can carry on through life.
