White faces disciplinary hearing for hit on Huskins
Montreal's Ryan White faces disciplinary hearing for hit on Philadelphia's Kent Huskins.

Montreal Canadiens center Ryan White faces a disciplinary hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety for an incident that occurred during a game Monday night against the Philadelphia Flyers at Bell Centre.

White has accepted an in-person hearing at the League's Manhattan office, which will happen Wednesday. The offering of an in-person meeting means the penalty could be a ban of more than five games.

The following grounds for the proposed supplemental discipline are being considered: illegal check to the head.

White was assessed a match penalty for an illegal check to the head of Kent Huskins. He was also issued a major penalty for fighting on the play, which occurred at the 6:11 mark of the first period.

Huskins left the game after the hit and did not return.

The Flyers won the game 7-3.
