Reinhart, a 6-foot-1, 186-pound center with the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League, led the team this season in goals (35), assists (50) and points (85).

The tournament runs April 18-28 in Sochi, Russia, the site of the 2014 Winter Olympics. Canada plays its first pre-tournament exhibition game April 14 against the United States at the Bolshoy Arena in Sochi.

Reinhart also was captain of Canada's team that won the gold medal at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament in August.

Canada's current roster lists 24 players, 15 of whom  are eligible for the 2013 NHL Draft. Among that group are four players ranked in NHL Central Scouting's top 30 for this year's draft: forwards Frederik Gauthier, Jason Dickinson and Morgan Klimchuk, and defensemen Shea Theodore and Joshua Morrissey.

Also at training camp is 16-year-old Connor McDavid of the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League. This season's OHL rookie of the year is the front-runner to be the first player picked in the 2015 NHL Draft.

Don Hay, coach of the Vancouver Giants of the WHL, will coach Canada at the tournament, with Jody Hull, coach of the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League, and Yves Sarault of Hockey Canada serving as assistants.
