Patrice Bergeron will travel with Boston Bruins, won't play Saturday.

Patrice Bergeron skated again Friday and will travel with the Boston Bruins, but it's unlikely he'll play against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, coach Claude Julien said.

The Bruins reported that Bergeron was one of 14 players to take part in an optional practice Friday morning.

Bergeron suffered a concussion in an April 2 game against the Ottawa Senators and returned to practice on Thursday.

"We’re certainly going to be cautious with him," Julien said. "As you know he has a history with [concussions] and we’re not about to take a gamble with him at this stage of the season.”

Boston subsequently lost Brad Marchand to a concussion in Wednesday's 5-4 win against the New Jersey Devils. The Bruins are describing Marchand's concussion as mild, and no timetable has been provided for his return.

Quote of the Day

Your team is going to want to recapture the feeling. What they're going to have to figure out is they're going to have to rewrite the story. Because you're going to rewrite the story doesn't mean you want a different end. It's just that you're going to have to learn that there's different challenges to get there, and if you're going to try and tap the same feeling, it ain't going to happen.
