The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Petr Straka to an entry-level contract to begin with the 2013-14 NHL season, the team announced Thursday.

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Petr Straka to an entry-level contract to begin with the 2013-14 NHL season, the team announced Thursday.

Straka scored 82 points in 55 games for Baie-Comeau Drakkar in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League this season. He has 18 points in eight playoff games so far this postseason.

With 41 goals and 41 assists this season, he has 208 points (97 goals) in 212 QMJHL games over four seasons.

The native of Plzen, Czech Republic, was chosen by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the second round (No. 55) of the 2010 NHL Draft but did not sign with the team.
