X-rays on Salvador's wrist come back negative
The New Jersey Devils announced on Thursday that the test results on defenseman Bryce Salvador's right wrist came back negative.

The New Jersey Devils announced Thursday that the test results on defenseman Bryce Salvador's right wrist came back negative.

Salvador, who exited Wednesday's game against the Boston Bruins early in the second period after stepping in front of a Zdeno Chara slap shot, had X-rays taken Thursday morning.

It remains to be seen if Salvador will be able to play on Friday against the Ottawa Senators at Prudential Center. Defensemen Adam Larsson, who was replaced in the lineup by Henrik Tallinder on Wednesday after sustaining an injury during Tuesday's practice, and Peter Harrold skated with the team Thursday at AmeriHealth Pavilion.

Devils coach Peter DeBoer also said he would determine Friday whether backup goalie Johan Hedberg would be available against the Senators. Hedberg sat out Wednesday's game with soreness.

The Devils are 10th in the Eastern Conference with 40 points, four behind the eighth-place New York Rangers with eight games remaining in the regular season.

Quote of the Day

I remember the first time at Wrigley Field all of us had the long johns, the turtlenecks and the extra equipment because we were afraid of being cold. Halfway through the first period everybody's ripping everything off and we just ended up wearing what we would normally wear for a game at the United Center.
