Can Lanigan made 38 saves in defeat.

Edmonton went 0 for 3 on the power play while Medicine Hat scored once on six chances with the man advantage.

The Oil Kings are heading to the East final for the second season in a row and will face either the Calgary Hitmen or Red Deer Rebels. The Hitmen currently lead the best-of-seven second-round matchup 3-1 with Game 5 set for Thursday in Calgary.

Quote of the Day

After being through it and seeing the other [outdoor] games on TV, just the atmosphere is spectacular. To stand here -- and we are essentially almost on the blue line -- and look up [into the stands] and knowing it is going to be packed and playing our biggest rival in this setting is going to be pretty special.
