Trocheck, Noesen four points each as Whalers take 2-1 series lead.

OWEN SOUND, Ont. - Vincent Trocheck scored three times and set up one more as the Plymouth Whalers downed the host Owen Sound Attack 6-3 on Tuesday in Ontario Hockey League playoff action.

Stefan Noesen had a goal and three assists for the Whalers, who now lead the best-of-seven second-round matchup 2-1, while Mitchell Heard and Garret Muers had a goal and an assist apiece.

Rickard Rakell and Connor Carrick each had two assists for Plymouth, which found itself down 3-1 before scoring five unanswered goals.

Cody Ceci, Holden Cook and Kurtis Gabriel scored for the Attack and Arturs Gavrus had two assists.

Alex Nedeljkovic made 29 saves for the win as Jordan Binnington stopped 25-of-30 shots in defeat.

Plymouth went 4 for 6 on the power play while Owen Sound scored twice on eight chances with the man advantage.

Game 4 is scheduled for Wednesday in Owen Sound at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
