Subban 28 saves, Gaunce three points as Bulls blank Wolves for 3-0 series lead

SUDBURY, Ont. - Malcolm Subban made 28 saves as the visiting Belleville Bulls blanked the Sudbury Wolves 4-0 on Tuesday in Ontario Hockey League playoff action.

Brendan Gaunce had two goals and an assist for the Bulls, who lead the best-of-seven second-round matchup 3-0, while Tyler Graovac and Joseph Cramarossa also scored.

Ray Huether was a team-worst minus-3 for the Wolves, who have been outscored 14-5 in the series, and Frank Palazzese stopped 28-of-32 shots in defeat.

Graovac deposited a rebound over a sprawled Palazzese to open the scoring at 15:02 in the first period and Cramarossa increased the lead 40 seconds later as he converted in the slot on a pass from Alan Quine.

Gaunce made it 3-0 when he slid the puck through Palazzese's five-hole on a breakaway at 10:15 in the third period.

Gaunce scored another at 12:37 after he unloaded a wrist shot into the top-left corner.

Both teams went 0 for 4 on the power play.

Belleville has a chance to eliminate Sudbury on Thurdsay when the Wolves host Game 4 at the Sudbury Community Arena. The winner of the series will meet the Barrie Colts in the Eastern Conference Final.

Quote of the Day

When we started our journey we made a commitment to our fans to be relevant and to see the Chicago Blackhawks become the best professional hockey organization. There are not two finer symbols of that than Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. The commitment we have made to these incredible young men is equal to the commitment they have made to our team, our fans, our entire organization and the city of Chicago.
