Kulikov scores on power play in third to lift Panthers to 2-1 victory over Senators

SUNRISE, Fla. - Dmitry Kulikov scored a power-play goal 10:46 into the third period to lift the Florida Panthers to a 2-1 victory over Ottawa on Sunday night that sent the Senators to their fourth straight loss.

Kulikov's wrist shot from top of the left circle beat Craig Anderson at 10:26 with Sergei Gonchar serving a holding penalty.

Scott Clemmensen had 40 saves and Marcel Goc also scored for Florida, which has won four of five.

Ottawa's Cory Conacher scored his first goal since being acquired from Tampa Bay on Wednesday.

Anderson stopped 15 of 17 shots in his return from an ankle injury he sustained against the New York Rangers on Feb. 21. He missed 18 games, then did not play when he returned for Friday night's 4-2 loss at Buffalo.

Quote of the Day

I first met him when I was 19 years old and he coached me for 13 consecutive years. I don't know how many athletes who have had that pleasure. Al Arbour was a man that left us not only feeling like champions, but left us with a lot of great memories that we can carry on through life.
