GOALS: 8 | ASST: 6 | PTS: 14
SOG: 29 | +/-: 9
The news initially was reported by James Mirtle of the (Toronto) Globe & Mail.

Lupul has played in 10 games this season due to a broken forearm suffered Jan. 23 against the Pittsburgh Penguins as well as a two-game suspension, but he's been electric when on the ice.

Lupul has at least one point in each of the seven games he's played since returning from his arm injury, totaling eight goals and six assists.

The Maple Leafs enter Friday sixth in the Eastern Conference with 44 points.

Quote of the Day

He's, believe it or not, actually one of my favorite guys, and I've ended up trading him twice. I appreciate what he's done. He was one year away from being an unrestricted free agent, and I felt with this opportunity, that it was a chance that we were able to get somebody for him in Nick Bonino and Adam Clendening.

— Penguins GM Jim Rutherford on forward Brandon Sutter
