Leafs forward Lupul day to day with upper-body injury after taking hard hit

TORONTO - Toronto Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul is skipping the team's practice today after taking a hard hit a night earlier in a loss to the Philadelphia Flyers.

Lupul appeared to take a blow to the head in the first period after being sandwiched by Jay Rosehill and Adam Hall.

Lupul got back to his feet but was wobbly and had to be helped onto the bench.

He left for the locker-room shortly afterwards and did not return because of an upper-body injury.

Lupul, who missed 25 games this season due to a broken forearm, has 14 points in 10 games.

The Maple Leafs will visit the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night.
