TORONTO - Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul took a jarring hit Thursday night in the first period against the Philadelphia Flyers and didn't return to the game.
Lupul dug the puck out of the corner in the Toronto end when Jay Rosehill and Adam Hall sandwiched him with hits. He immediately skated off the ice and went to the dressing room with just over seven minutes left in the period.
The Maple Leafs announced on Twitter that Lupul sustained an undisclosed upper body injury and wouldn't return.
