Val-d'Or moves into next round of QMJHL playoffs after 3OT win over P.E.I.

CHARLOTTETOWN - Cedrick Henley scored in triple overtime and Philippe Trudeau made 60 saves as the Val-d'Or Foreurs beat P.E.I. 4-3 to knock the Rocket out of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoffs Monday.

Henley's power-play goal came with just 1:03 left in the third OT to help Val-d'Or advance with a 4-2 series win.

Anthony Mantha scored twice in regulation for Val-d'Or, while Brandon Hynes added a single.

Yan Pavel Laplante scored a hat trick for P.E.I., with his last two goals tying the game in the third period.

Rocket goaltender Antoine Bibeau meanwhile stopped 54 shots.

Quote of the Day

He's only 17 but he can see the ice so well and he moves the puck and goes to the open ice all the time, so I just think he's a player that is ready to play in the NHL. I'm really looking forward to coaching someone like this.
