Flyers acquire Huskins from Red Wings
Philadelphia Flyers acquire Kent Huskins from Detroit Red Wings.

The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired defenseman Kent Huskins from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for a conditional seventh-round selection in the 2014 NHL Draft.

Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren made the announcement Saturday before the team played the Boston Bruins.

Detroit will receive Philadelphia's seventh-round selection in 2014 if Philadelphia signs Huskins to a 2013-14 contract prior to Oct. 1.

Huskins is in his seventh NHL season, his first with the Red Wings. He has appeared in 11 games, going scoreless with an average of 15:20 of ice time.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound defenseman from Almonte, Ontario has played 310 NHL games, recording 67 points (13 goals) and 173 penalty minutes.
