The Pittsburgh Penguins say Jarome Iginla's immigration issues have been resolved and he is traveling from Calgary to arrive in Pittsburgh on Saturday.

No further details are available, according to the team.

The Penguins take a 14-game winning streak into their home game against the New York Islanders on Saturday afternoon. There is no word whether Iginla will play, though it might be unlikely because he has not skated or practiced with his new team. If he doesn't play Saturday, the Penguins have two days off before facing the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday.

Pittsburgh acquired Iginla from the Calgary Flames in a trade completed early Thursday morning.

“Immigration issues are not an uncommon thing when having to get a visa,” after a player is traded from a Canadian team to a U.S.-based club, Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said Friday.

Iginla, a Canadian citizen, needs a work visa to play for the Penguins.

Quote of the Day

You know what? We've played in some pretty special buildings along this playoff run so far. You start in Detroit, you go to Montreal, you come here … I think it's the first team to beat three Original Six teams to get to the Final if I'm not mistaken. That says how tough the road has been. Those are tough places to win.
