Frank Palazzese makes 39 saves for Wolves in 3-1 victory over Battalion

SUDBURY, Ont. - Frank Palazzese made 39 saves as the Sudbury Wolves defeated the Brampton Battalion 3-1 on Tuesday to take a 2-1 lead in their OHL playoff.

Mathew Campagna, Dominik Kubalik and Nathan Pancel scored for the Wolves, who managed only 13 shots on goal.

Blake Clarke opened the scoring for Brampton, when he fired home a shot over Palazzese's left shoulder at 4:19 in the first period.

Campagna tied the game at 19:07 of the second period after he backhanded the puck over Matej Machovsky's glove.

Kubalik put Sudbury up 2-1 at 5:01 of the third period when he beat Machovsky between the legs on a shot from the right face-off circle.

Pancel added an empty-net goal at 18:53.

Sudbury went 0 for 6 on the power play, while Brampton was 0 for 3.
