Sabourin, Laughton three points each as the Generals take 2-0 series lead

OSHAWA, Ont. - Scott Sabourin scored twice and assisted on another to lead the Oshawa Generals to a 4-3 win over the visiting Niagara IceDogs on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League playoff action.

Scott Laughton scored once and added two assists for the Generals, who lead the first-round series 2-0, while Josh Brown had a goal and an assist.

Jordan Maletta, Ben Hughes and Brendan Perlini scored for the IceDogs, who trailed 4-1 midway through the second period before making the game close.

Daniel Altshuller made 23 saves for the win as Christopher Festarini stopped 34-of-38 shots in defeat.

Oshawa went 0 for 4 on the power play while Niagara scored once on eight chances with the man advantage.

Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday when the IceDogs host the Generals at the Gatorade Garden City Complex.

I've been getting frustrated lately, and the only thing keeping me sane was the team winning and other people stepping up and scoring. Then you just kind of let it go and realize you can end the series with one shot, that frustration goes away for a brief moment, and that's what happened.
