Kings' Jordan Nolan fined for cross-checking Canucks' Henrik Sedin

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Los Angeles Kings forward Jordan Nolan was fined $1,436.94 by the NHL on Sunday for

cross-checking Vancouver Canucks forward Henrik Sedin.

The fine was the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. As a first-time offender, the maximum Nolan could be fined was the lesser of $10,000 or one-half of his daily salary.

No penalty was called on the play in the second period of the Kings' 1-0 home loss Saturday night.

Quote of the Day

That's a really tough thing to play through; when you finally are thrown out there, the game is fast, intense, every single play matters, you've got to find a way to play through that and make smart plays. So it's a huge testament to [Vermette] and some other individuals in our locker room that are putting their own ego, their own wants and needs aside, and are ready for those opportunities when they do come.
