St. John's IceCaps score four unanswered goals to beat Portland Pirates 4-1

PORTLAND, Maine - The St. John's IceCaps scored four unanswered goals to defeat the Portland Pirates 4-1 in American Hockey League play Saturday.

Eric O'Dell, Aaron Gagnon, Maxime Macenauer and Josh Lunden each scored for St. John's (26-33-5), which rebounded after losing 5-2 to Portland on Friday.

Nick Johnson scored 1:29 into the game for Portland (35-23-5) before the IceCaps went on their run.

O'Dell tied the game before the end of the first period, and Gagnon put St. John's ahead in the second with a power-play goal.

Macenauer scored shorthanded in the third and Lunden capped the scoring with another power-play goal.

IceCaps goaltender Mark Dekanich made 20 saves, while at the other end of the ice Mark Visentin stopped 31 shots for the Pirates.
