Lanigan makes 42 saves as Tigers blank Blades for 2-0 series lead

SASKATOON - Cam Lanigan stopped all 42 shots he faced as the Medicine Hat Tigers blanked the host Saskatoon Blades 3-0 on Friday in Western Hockey League playoff action.

The seventh-seeded Tigers have jumped out to a 2-0 series lead against the second-seeded Blades thanks to Lanigan, who's stopped 84-of-85 shots in two games.

Miles Koules had a goal and an assist for Medicine Hat while Tyler Lewington and Trevor Cox each scored once.

Collin Valcourt was a team-worst minus-2 for Saskatoon and Andrey Makarov made 40 saves in a losing cause.

Medicine Hat went 1 for 6 on the power play while Saskatoon failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.

The Tigers will host Game 3 on Tuesday Mar. 26th at the Medicine Hat Arena.
