Domi with three points as Knights take 1-0 series lead

LONDON, Ont. - Max Domi scored twice and set up one more as the London Knights defeated the visiting Saginaw Spirit 5-2 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League playoff action.

Alex Broadhurst and Dakota Mermis each had a goal and an assist for the Knights (1-0-0) while Chris Tierney chipped in with three assists.

Josh Anderson scored once to round out London's offence.

Andrey Alexeev and Eric Locke responded for the Spirit (0-1-0).

Anthony Stolarz made 24 saves for the win as Jake Paterson took the loss after allowing five goals on 29 shots through two periods of action. Nikita Serebryakov replaced Paterson to start the third and stopped all nine shots he faced in relief.

London went 1 for 7 on the power play while Saginaw failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.

The Knights lead the series 1-0 and will host Game 2 on Sunday Mar. 24th at the Budweiser Gardens.

Quote of the Day

It's pretty crazy, but believe me when I say we didn't draft these players with the mindset we had to because they had good hockey-playing dads. It just turned out that way. But we're certainly glad they're a part of our organization.
