Vanek missed Thursday's 5-4 shootout win against the Toronto Maple Leafs with a lower-body injury. Sabres interim coach Ron Rolston told the media after the team's morning skate that Vanek was still sore from being hit with a shot in the second period of Tuesday's game against the Canadiens.
Vanek leads the Sabres in scoring with 14 goals and 17 assists in 27 games.
