Daniel Milne scores in OT, Attack beats Greyhounds 2-1 in OHL playoff opener

OWEN-SOUND, Ont. - Forward Daniel Milne scored in overtime to give the Owen Sound Attack a 2-1 victory over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds Thursday in the opening game of their first round OHL Western Conference playoff.

Left-winger Michael Schumacher opened the scoring for the Greyhounds at 7:37 of the first period.

Centre Artur Gavrus tied it for Owen Sound at 19:08 of the first.

Both goaltenders had busy nights, with Matt Murray of the Greyhounds and Jordan Binnington of the Attack each making 36 saves.

Sault Ste. Marie was 0 for 5 on the power play, and Owen Sound was 0 for 4.

Quote of the Day

I downplayed the first one because I thought it's just a hockey game. We just want to win the game; it's against our rival and we want the two points. I downplayed it, but now having gone through the first one I look back and say, 'Geez, that was really cool.' I think as I've grown a bit older I've got a lot more appreciation for what we're allowed to do every day.
