The Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday agreed to terms with college free agent Kyle Flanagan on a one-year entry-level contract.

He will join Philadelphia's AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, on an amateur tryout contract for the remainder of the 2012-13 season.

The 24-year-old scored 15 goals and had 32 assists in 35 games during his just-completed senior season at St. Lawrence University. During his four seasons with the Saints, the 5-foot-9, 170-pound center scored 46 goals and added 101 assists for 147 points in 134 games while serving as captain during his junior and senior seasons.

Flanagan was named a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award as the top collegiate player this season.

Quote of the Day

For our team, as a group, we've never been this far before, and so it's just more lessons learned, and sometimes you have to go to the school of hard knocks to find out what works and what doesn't. We've got a young group. They've played some unreal hockey here to get us this far, and we showed if we're not going to play the proper way, a really, really good hockey team is going to beat you, and that's what they did. It's a lesson learned.
