The Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday agreed to terms with college free agent Kyle Flanagan on a one-year entry-level contract.

He will join Philadelphia's AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, on an amateur tryout contract for the remainder of the 2012-13 season.

The 24-year-old scored 15 goals and had 32 assists in 35 games during his just-completed senior season at St. Lawrence University. Flanagan was named a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award as the top collegiate player this season.

Prior to his career at St. Lawrence, Flanagan played two seasons for the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the United States Hockey League, for whom he had 29 goals and 64 assists for 93 points in 117 games.

Quote of the Day

Just the feel for the direction they were headed and what they're trying to do, it just felt that this is a really good thing for this organization. They've got the pieces. We can put something together and go on a run or two and be together for a while, and I'm really excited about that opportunity. The team we have here has an opportunity to win, and that's the most attractive thing.
