CLEVELAND - Joe Colborne and Ryan Hamilton each had a goal and an assist Tuesday as the Toronto Marlies defeated the Lake Erie Monsters 4-2 in the American Hockey League.
Mike Zigomanis and Kevin Marshall had the other goals for Toronto (35-20-6), which got 35 saves from Drew MacIntyre.
Andrew Agozzino and John Negrin scored for Lake Erie (27-28-9). Sami Aittokallio stopped 20 shots in taking the loss.
After Marshall gave Toronto a 1-0 lead in the first period, Zigomanis doubled the lead at 1:47 of the second.
Negrin got one back for Lake Erie on the power play at 11:47 to make it 2-1 after two periods.
Colborne restored the Marlies' two-goal lead on a man advantage at 3:11 of the third and Hamilton made it 4-1 with a short-handed goal at 19:33.
Agozzino then rounded out the scoring with a consolation goal for the Monsters on the power play with four seconds left in regulation.
