Blair Jones gets equalizer and scores in SO as Heat beat Rampage 5-4

SAN ANTONIO - Centre Blair Jones scored the equalizer for Abbotsford at 19:50 of the third period, and had one of the Heat's two goals in the shootout, in a 5-4 victory over the San Antonio Rampage in A-H-L action Sunday.

Goals by Sven Baertschi and Brett Carson staked the Heat (28-27-9) to a 2-0 lead in the first period.

Jack Combs cut the margin 2-1 40 seconds into the second period, and Brendon Nash tied it for San Antonio (27-26-6) at 11:48 of the third period.

Max Reinhart put Abbotsford back in front 3-2 a little over two minutes later with a power play goal, the team's second of the game. The Rampage took a 4-3 the lead with goals by 14 seconds apart by Combs and John McFarland. Jones tied it with his third goal of the season.

Barry Brust finished with 36 saves for the Heat.

Dov Grumet-Morris stopped 37 shots for the Rampage.

Abbotsford was 2 for 5 on the power play, while San Antonio was 0 for 3.
