MEDICINE HAT, Alta. - Curtis Valk scored twice and added an assist and Hunter Shinkaruk had a goal and two assists as the Medicine Hat Tigers downed the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes 7-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League play.
Gavin Broadhead, Matt Staples, Logan McVeigh and Boston Leier also scored for the Tigers (36-33-3), who head into the post season as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, while Dylan Bredo chipped in with three assists.
Jamal Watson and Duke Reid scored for the Hurricanes (28-34-10), who finish the regular season six points out of a playoff position.
Cam Lanigan made 28 saves for the win as Christopher Tai stopped 37 shots in defeat.
