GUELPH, Ont. - Garret Sparks stopped 40-of-41 shots as the Guelph Storm edged the visiting Erie Otters 2-1 in overtime on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Cody McNaughton scored the winner 2:36 into overtime for the Storm (39-23-5) while Scott Kosmachuk opened the scoring in the final minute of the first period.

Jimmy McDowell scored in the second period for the Otters (18-40-9), who are winless in four games, and Oscar Dansk turned away 27 shots in a losing cause.

Guelph went 0 for 3 on the power play while Erie failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.

Once again, it shows character in this dressing room. Once again, there's no quitting in here. We all wanted this so bad and we worked so hard to get home-ice advantage and we weren't going to let this one slide.
