GUELPH, Ont. - Garret Sparks stopped 40-of-41 shots as the Guelph Storm edged the visiting Erie Otters 2-1 in overtime on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Cody McNaughton scored the winner 2:36 into overtime for the Storm (39-23-5) while Scott Kosmachuk opened the scoring in the final minute of the first period.
Jimmy McDowell scored in the second period for the Otters (18-40-9), who are winless in four games, and Oscar Dansk turned away 27 shots in a losing cause.
Guelph went 0 for 3 on the power play while Erie failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.
