Jason Shaw overtime hero as Saginaw Spirit rally past Sarnia Sting 3-2

SARNIA, Ont. - Jason Shaw scored just 28 seconds into overtime as the Saginaw Spirit rallied past the Sarnia Sting 3-2 on Thursday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Captain Garret Ross's short-handed goal late in the third period forced the extra period for Saginaw (32-28-6), while Nick Moutrey scored 1:18 into the second. Jake Paterson made 32 saves for the win.

Nikolay Goldobin had a pair of power-play goals for Sarnia (35-26-5). JP Anderson stopped 24 shots for the Sting.

The Spirit could not score on their two power plays, while Sarnia went 2 for 4 with the man advantage.
