ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Matej Machovsky made 30 saves as the Brampton Battalion beat the Niagara IceDogs 5-2 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday night.
Barclay Goodrow scored his team-leading 36th goal of the season early in the third period on the power play for Brampton (32-25-9). It proved to be the game-winner. Zach Bell, Brenden Miller, Matt McLeod and Brendan Childerley also scored for the Battalion.
Steven Shipley and Brett Ritchie, with his team-leading 41st of the season, replied for the IceDogs (30-32-4).
Shipley's first period goal was his 16th power-play goal of the season, setting a Niagara IceDogs franchise record.
Chris Festarini turned aside 24 shots in the loss.
Brampton finished the game 2 for 3 on the power play, while Niagara was 1 for 5.
