Canadiens call up six-foot-six defenceman Jarred Tinordi from Hamilton

MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens have called up defenceman Jarred Tinordi from the American Hockey League's Hamilton Bulldogs.

Tinordi will join the Canadiens at their practice facility in Brossard, Que., for their Friday morning practice ahead of the team's Saturday night game against the Devils in New Jersey.

The six-foot-six defenceman from Burnsville, Minn., has two goals, nine assists and 55 penalty minutes in 55 games with the Bulldogs in his first professional season.

Last season he served as captain as the London Knights won the Ontario Hockey League championship.

Quote of the Day

That was something I've been dreaming of, something I've told myself before the third period I was going to do ... It was an amazing feeling. It's hard to describe. I didn't believe it went in at first but when I saw all the reaction and all the fans going crazy and my teammates going crazy, it's just an unbelievable feeling. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know whether to jump or just skate and do a Theo Fleury. I don't think I'm the same caliber player he is so I couldn't do it.
