Spokane Chiefs hold on for 6-4 WHL win over Prince George Cougars

SPOKANE, Wash. - Adam Helewka and Mitch Holmberg each had a goal and an assist as the Spokane Chiefs held on for a 6-4 win over the Prince George Cougars on Tuesday in the WHL.

Spokane led 5-0 in the third period before Prince George mounted a furious comeback with four straight goals from Daniel Gibb, with two, Troy Bourke and Zach Pochiro.

The Cougars pulled their goalie with two minutes left but Chiefs winger Alessio Bertaggia scored an empty-netter to cool the rally.

Todd Fiddler, with his 42nd, Markson Bechtold and Mike Aviani had the other goals for Spokane (41-25-2).

The Cougars (21-39-8) failed to connect on four power-play chances.
