When the Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils get together for this week's edition of NBC Sports Network's Wednesday Night Rivalry, the hatred and animosity will likely be ramped to even higher levels with so much on the line.
The Devils have won six in a row and eight straight against the Flyers, including Games 2-5 of their 2012 Eastern Conference Semifinal series. That past success goes out the window in the first half of this home-and-home series that Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov said his team can't lose or they are "done."
The Flyers are in 11th place in the East, three points out of eighth place and four points back of seventh-place New Jersey. Neither team has played well of late -- the Devils have two wins in their last nine games, while the Flyers are 1-3 in their last four games.
