The Philadelphia Flyers have traded minor-league forward Matthew Ford to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for future considerations.

In 35 games with the Adirondack Phantoms this season, Ford has four goals and nine assists.

An eighth-round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2004 NHL Draft, Ford, 28, has played for AHL affiliates of the New York Rangers, Colorado Avalanche and Washington Capitals.

Quote of the Day

I spent a long summer thinking about that playoff series and what could have been. [The Blackhawks] ended up being the Stanley Cup champions, so we know we lost to a very good team. It's tough to know how close we were, and it motivates us for this year.
