Stars' Benn leaves with injury
Dallas Stars center Jamie Benn left the Stars' game against the Phoenix Coyotes late in the third period Saturday after a high hit from Coyotes center Martin Hanzal.

Dallas Stars center Jamie Benn left the Stars' game against the Phoenix Coyotes late in the third period Saturday after a high hit from Coyotes center Martin Hanzal.

As Benn carried the puck into the zone off the rush with just over a minute remaining, Hanzal started to line him up for a hit. Benn let go a shot, and Hanzal came in an instant later with a high hit. Benn lay on the ice for a few seconds before woozily skating off toward the dressing room.

No penalty was called on the play.

Stars coach Glen Gulutzan had no update on Benn after the 2-1 loss.

Quote of the Day

After being through it and seeing the other [outdoor] games on TV, just the atmosphere is spectacular. To stand here -- and we are essentially almost on the blue line -- and look up [into the stands] and knowing it is going to be packed and playing our biggest rival in this setting is going to be pretty special.
