Shinkaruk scores winner as the Tigers edge the Raiders

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. - Hunter Shinkaruk scored with 23 seconds remaining in overtime as the Medicine Hat Tigers edged the host Prince Albert Raiders 2-1 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

Marek Langhamer stopped 37-of-38 shots for the Tigers (35-31-3) while Elgin Pearce scored in regulation.

Jonas Knutsen scored the lone goal for the Raiders (35-27-7), who are winless in five games, and Luke Siemens made 28 saves in defeat.

Both clubs went 0 for 3 on the power play.

The victory moves Medicine Hat to within four points of Prince Albert for the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference. Both clubs have seven regular-season games remaining.
