Preds' Wilson suffers upper-body injury
Colin Wilson left Saturday's game against Minnesota at 1:48 of the second period and did not return.

NASHVILLE – One day after losing one of their top offensive forwards to injury, the Nashville Predators might have lost another on Saturday when Colin Wilson left the game at 1:48 of the second period and did not return.

Wilson, who leads Nashville with seven goals, was hit from behind by Minnesota’s Justin Falk and fell awkwardly into the boards behind the Wild’s net. He required assistance getting off the ice and it was announced that he would not return with an upper-body injury.

The Predators, the lowest-scoring team in the National Hockey League, can ill afford to lose such players. On Friday, Patric Hornqvist, who has led the team in goals in two of the three previous seasons, injured his shoulder, also after being hit from behind and crashing awkwardly into the boards in the same area of Bridgestone Arena.

Nick Spaling, after sitting one game as a healthy scratch, returned to the lineup. Predators coach Barry Trotz said he did not expect Hornqvist to play on Tuesday in Dallas and was uncertain as to whether Hornqvist would join the team on its upcoming five-game road trip.
