Scheidl scores twice as the Pats down the Raiders

REGINA - Lane Scheidl scored twice as the Regina Pats defeated the visiting Prince Albert Raiders 6-2 on Friday in Western Hockey League play.

Morgan Klimchuk had a goal and an assist for the Pats (25-36-7) while Colton Jobke, Emil Sylvegard and Braden Christoffer each scored once.

Mark McNeill had a goal and an assist for the Raiders (35-27-6), who are winless in four games, and Jayden Hart added a single goal.

Matt Hewitt made 28 saves for the win as Andy Desautels took the loss after allowing four goals on 18 shots in 34 minutes of action. Luke Siemens replaced Desautels and stopped 6-of-8 shots in relief.

Regina went 1 for 4 on the power play while Prince Albert scored once on three chances with the man advantage.

Quote of the Day

I downplayed the first one because I thought it's just a hockey game. We just want to win the game; it's against our rival and we want the two points. I downplayed it, but now having gone through the first one I look back and say, 'Geez, that was really cool.' I think as I've grown a bit older I've got a lot more appreciation for what we're allowed to do every day.
