WINDSOR, Ont. - Kerby Rychel scored his team-leading 37th and 38th goals of the season Thursday as the Windsor Spitfires defeated the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 7-4 in the Ontario Hockey League.
Brady Vail, Josh Ho-Sang, Ben Johnson, Remy Giiftopoulos and Nick Ebert had the other goals for the Spitfires (25-31-8). Jared McCann paced the Greyhounds (34-23-6) offensively with two goals, while Brandon Alderson and Ryan Sproul also scored.
Jaroslav Pavelka made 38 saves to pick up the win as the Spitfires finished their season series against the Greyhounds by winning five out of six games.
Greyhounds' starting netminder Justin Nichols was pulled late in the second period after allowing five goals on 19 shots. He was replaced by Matt Murray, who made eight saves in relief.
Spitfires defenceman Adam Bateman returned to the lineup after missing six games due to concussion-like symptoms. The second-year player picked up an assist on Rychel's first-period goal and finished the game a plus-4.
