KELOWNA, B.C. - Rourke Chartier scored the shootout winner as the Kelowna Rockets defeated the Victoria Royals 4-3 in WHL action on Wednesday night.

Madison Bowey, with two goals, including a game-tying marker with 47.7 seconds remaining in the game, and Jesse Lees scored for Kelowna (47-16-4).

Jamie Crooks, with his 32nd goal of the season, Jack Walker and Austin Carroll, at 18:45 of the third to make it 3-2, replied for Victoria (32-27-7). The Royals scored twice in the second to level the score at 2-2 after 40 minutes.

Coleman Vollrath stopped 27 shots for the Royals, who lost 6-0 in Kamloops on Tuesday night.

Jordon Cooke made 20 saves for the Rockets, who play a home-and-home set with Kamloops this Friday and Saturday.

It's hard to walk into that locker room and look those guys in the eye when they've played -- clearly, that was our best game we've played in the series -- and I thought we deserved a better fate tonight.
