Lightning's Garon suffers lower-body injury
Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Mathieu Garon left Monday night's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins 2:19 into the second period with an undisclosed injury.

PITTSBURGH -- Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Mathieu Garon left Monday night's 4-3 loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins 2:19 into the second period with a lower-body injury and did not return.

Garon was seen moving gingerly after lunging his pad out to his left to stop an Evgeni Malkin chance on a power play about a minute earlier. Anders Lindback replaced Garon, who had given up one goal on 13 shots.

Garon is likely to at least miss Tuesday night's game against the New Jersey Devils. The Lightning are expected to promote Cedrick Desjardins from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League in Garon's absence.
