PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - Connor Rankin had two goals as the Tri-City Americans won 6-3 over the Prince George Cougars on Monday in the Western Hockey League.
Mitch Topping, Beau McCue, Lucas Nickles and Justin Feser had the other goals for the Americans (39-23-3), who moved back into fourth place in the Western Conference.
Jari Erricson, Brett Roulston and Marc McNulty for the Cougars (18-38-8), who have lost five straight games and are eight points out of a playoff spot with eight games remaining, including six on the road.
Troy Trombley finished with 34 saves for Tri-City.
Life's about opportunity and how you respond to that opportunity, and obviously he must have some swagger about him, some confidence about him, because he was solid. He made some good saves. He was 6-foot-3 on every shot, which is a good thing for a goalie. He played well. We got a win.
