Goulbourne scores four times as the Rockets crush the Hurricanes

KELOWNA, B.C. - Tyrell Goulbourne scored four goals as the Kelowna Rockets crushed the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes 7-1 on Saturday in Western Hockey League play.

Jamal Watson scored the lone goal for the Hurricanes (26-29-10), who sit six points behind the Kootenay Ice for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Jackson Whistle made 25 saves for the win as Ty Rimmer picked up the loss after allowing four goals on 17 shots in 25 minutes of action. Christopher Tai replaced Rimmer and turned away 21-of-24 shots in relief.

Kelowna went 1 for 6 on the power play while Lethbridge failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.

Quote of the Day

For our team, as a group, we've never been this far before, and so it's just more lessons learned, and sometimes you have to go to the school of hard knocks to find out what works and what doesn't. We've got a young group. They've played some unreal hockey here to get us this far, and we showed if we're not going to play the proper way, a really, really good hockey team is going to beat you, and that's what they did. It's a lesson learned.
