Blades extend win streak to 18 games by defeating the Wheat Kings

SASKATOON - The Saskatoon Blades extended their win streak to 18 games on Friday with a 4-1 victory against the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings in Western Hockey League play.

Shane McColgan and Josh Nicholls had a goal and an assist each for the Blades (41-21-3) while Nick Zajac and Brenden Walker added single goals.

Richard Nejezchleb scored the lone goal for the Wheat Kings (21-38-6), who are winless in six contests.

Andrey Makarov made 21 saves for the win as Corbin Boes stopped 35-of-38 shots in defeat.

Saskatoon went 0 for 3 on the power play while Brandon scored once on four chances with the man advantage.
