Eight Oil Kings record multi-point game in win over Silvertips

EVERETT, Wash. - Eight players recorded a multi-point game for Edmonton as the Oil Kings crushed the host Everett Silvertips 7-1 on Friday in Western Hockey League play.

Michael St. Croix had four assists for the Oil Kings (46-15-5), who have won three games in a row, while Martin Gernat and Trevor Cheek each scored twice.

Griffin Reinhart scored once and set up two more and Cody Corbett and Curtis Lazar had a goal and an assist apiece.

Dylan Wruck and T.J. Foster both picked up two assists to round out Edmonton's offence.

Reid Petryk scored the lone goal for the Silvertips (22-37-5), who have just one win in their last 10 contests.

Tristan Jarry stopped 26 shots for the win as Daniel Cotton took the loss after allowing seven goals on 39 shots in 46 minutes of action. Austin Lotz replaced Cotton and stopped all 13 shots he faced in relief.

Edmonton went 3 for 7 on the power play while Everett failed to score on two chances with the man advantage.

Quote of the Day

For our team, as a group, we've never been this far before, and so it's just more lessons learned, and sometimes you have to go to the school of hard knocks to find out what works and what doesn't. We've got a young group. They've played some unreal hockey here to get us this far, and we showed if we're not going to play the proper way, a really, really good hockey team is going to beat you, and that's what they did. It's a lesson learned.
