Braden Holtby makes 35 saves as Capitals ground Winnipeg Jets 3-0

WINNIPEG - Braden Holtby stopped 35 shots and Mike Ribeiro had a goal and an assist as the Washington Capitals defeated the Winnipeg Jets 3-0 on Saturday.

Matt Hendricks and Todd Brouwer, with his team-leading ninth goal of the season, also scored for Washington (8-11-1).

It was Holtby's third shutout of the season in his 14th game (7-7-0).

Winnipeg goalie Ondrej Pavelec made 18 saves for the Jets (10-10-1), who had a three-game winning streak snapped.

The last time the Jets went scoreless at home was Jan. 12, 2012 in a 2-0 loss to San Jose. The last time they were shut out was in a 3-0 loss in Montreal on Feb. 5, 2012.
